❤️ Why You'll Love this Recipe
Quick and Easy - This green tea mojito is very beginner friendly and comes together in under five minutes. You don't even need any cocktail tools because I have simple kitchen swaps you can make detailed just below!
Refreshing Flavor - Matcha green tea is actually an amazing flavor addition to the minty, citrusy simplicity of a rum mojito. The result is bright, crispy, and earthy--just fab.

What You'll Need for this Recipe

Rum is the signature spirit for a mojito, specifically white rum if you want to stick to tradition. I actually use either white or dark rum (also known as black rum) with great results. Check out my hibiscus mojito for evidence!
Matcha Syrup takes the place of plain simple syrup or cane sugar and I highly recommend mixing up my matcha simple syrup for this recipe.
Fresh Mint and Lime are an absolute must, though you can get away with concentrated lime juice, if need be. Use any variety of mint you like including spearmint and peppermint.

Substitutions & Variations
Club Soda is truest to the original Cuban mojito recipe but you can substitute it with sparkling water or mineral water for similar results.
Citrus options if you don't have lime include sour orange and lemon. Fresh squeeze juice is best but concentrated juice will also work, though I don't recommend regular ol' OJ for this drink.
Matcha Flavor can come from the syrup I recommend or you can purchase ready-made syrup or add a teaspoon of ceremonial grade matcha powder and half an ounce of plain simple syrup to recipe instead.
How to Make an Easy Matcha Mojito

Step One: Muddle the mint leaves and matcha simple syrup together.

Step Two: Pour in the rum, lime juice, and club soda over ice then stir until everything's combined.

Step Three: Garnish with a stem of fresh mint, if desired.

Step Four: Add a wheel of lime and serve ice cold.
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't recommend making the matcha mojito in advance because the carbonation will go flat and the ice will melt, diluting the drink.
For pitcher hibiscus mojitos, add 12 mint leaves and two ounces of matcha syrup to pitcher then muddle together. Fill the container ⅓ full with ice then pour in six ounces rum, three ounces lime juice, and top up with club soda. Stir and serve cold. Makes four servings.
