What You'll Need for this Recipe

Hennessy, of course. Use VS, VSOP, XO, Hennessy Pure White, or whichever expression you prefer. The taste will come through, so don't be shy about using the good stuff!
Blanco Tequila, also called silver tequila, works well in this recipe because it has the crisp, agave-forward flavor we traditionally associate with margaritas. Or you can use reposado, which has oaky, caramel notes that blend nicely with the cognac.
Orange Zest + Sugar are optional but strongly encouraged, not only for a pretty presentation but also for a citrusy-sweet flavor contrast with each sip.

Substitutions & Variations
Orange Liqueur - Grab the brand you enjoy in your margaritas, from Triple Sec to Cointreau, to Grand Marnier--which has cognac in it, so it's a great fit here.
Sweetener - I used maple syrup in this recipe, but have successfully tested it with simple syrup, agave nectar, and honey syrup, so use whichever one you like best and have available.
Fruit Flavors - You can change things up by using half ice and half frozen fruit in this drink. From a mango Hennessy margarita to peach, pineapple, passion fruit or strawberry, the options are nearly endless.
How to Make a Hennessy Margarita Frozen

- Step 1: Zest an orange, then use your fingers to press it together with sugar.

- Step 2: Rim a glass with citrus juice then coat it with the zest and sugar mix.

- Step 3: Add cocktail ingredients to a blender, then pulse until smooth and uniform.

- Step 4: Pour into glass, garnish with a twist of orange, and serve.
Pro Tip #1
If you don't have a jigger to measure out the liquid ingredients, you can use a shot glass, which holds the same volume as the larger end of a jigger.
