I made my very first dish (a Martha Stewart recipe, in case you're curious) at the age of 13 and have been experimenting ever since. Over the years, I've found that simplicity is my best friend in the kitchen. While, recipes with tons of steps and a fridge full of ingredients have their place and time, most of the time, I go for simple things with the same trusted components. And I usually love the result. I also love French fries, which is what we're talking about today and likely what you came here for. 🙂 Crispy oven baked French fries with just three simple ingredients and no expert tools or techniques required. And you can make as many or as few as you want! Let's get into it.
I first made fries like these a couple of years back and realized that Gwyneth Paltrow has nothing on me! They're perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside--without frying--and made with Yukon gold potatoes, sea salt, and olive oil. That's it. And they come in clutch when I'm craving fries but want to skip the drive through or frozen food section at the grocery store. I bake up a quick batch of these and pair them with French's® dipping sauces because they're made with no artificial flavors, colors, and no high fructose corn syrup! Basically, bold flavor without the bad stuff. The two I've picked up recently from HEB are French's® Honey Mustard and Sweet & Smoky BBQ Dipping Sauce. Save $1 on 1 French’s Dipping Sauce with HEB digital coupons (offer valid through 7/6/19) or in-aisle coupons from now through 7/14/19.
HEB is my grocery store of choice because of its Texas roots and the fact that I can do a full grocery run there whether I'm meal prepping for the week or hosting a party. For this recipe, I pick up a few potatoes (or one if I'm just satisfying my own craving) from the produce section and French's® dipping sauces from the Condiment and Spice aisle. Once I get home, I fire up the oven, then slice and season the potatoes, bake, and dip. Easy!
Rather than completely cutting out my favorite foods, I tend to find better ways to make and enjoy them so that I can indulge without feeling guilty. These crispy oven baked French fries fit the bill and I really think you'll love them, too. Let me know if you try these or have any snacking hacks that work in the comments section below. Thanks for reading!
