❤️ Why You'll Love this Recipe
Quick & Easy - Just five ingredients and five minutes are all you need. I love matcha in the mornings but don't want to spend a lot of time making breakfast and this dairy free lavender bloom matcha latte recipe fits into my full schedule.
Energy - This lavender green tea latte does have caffeine in it but about half of the typical coffee latte (except for decaf) so less chance of a caffeine crash and jitters.
Soothing Lavender Flavor - The herbal earthiness of matcha is beautifully complemented by lavender honey and a subtle vanilla note. I'm a former barista but you don't need any coffeeshop experience to elevate your morning tea.
👉🏾 I drink matcha almost every day so have a ton of options in the clip like my easy matcha soda or minty matcha iced tea. And for the hot matcha girlies, don't skip my cozy golden matcha latte, spearmint matcha or pistachio matcha latte!
What You'll Need for this Recipe

Matcha Powder - I recommend ceremonial grade, organic matcha for great taste and the best quality. Here's my favorite high quality matcha brand that's way better than what you'll find at Starbucks or Dunkin at a better price!
Lavender Syrup - I make this simple lavender-infused honey syrup with three ingredients to keep on deck for lattes and cocktails and it's truly the best lavender syrup for matcha latte. But you can also use a ready-made lavender honey or lavender simple syrup, if you like.

Substitutions & Variations
Milk - I typically opt for almond milk, but feel free to use the plant based or dairy milk (including evaporated milk) of your choice, with the exception of buttermilk because of it's acidity. For a dairy free option with most creamy texture, I recommend a matcha lavender oatmilk latte.
Hot or Iced - I love a warm and cozy cuppa lavender matcha most days, but sometimes like to switch it up over ice--especially in the summertime. So you do you!
Color - I'll just note that a lavender latte is not naturally purple or blue in color. But you can do add ins like muddled blueberries or butterfly pea powder to get that color!
How to Make a Lavender Matcha Latte
Hot Matcha with Lavender

Step One: Mix up the matcha, lavender honey syrup, vanilla, and hot water until dissolved.

Step Two: Heat milk until steaming then mix with a frothing wand or electric whisk to create latte foam.
Pro Tip #1: To mix up the matcha, you can use a bamboo whisk, which is part of the traditional preparation, a fork or a frothing wand. The latter is what I use to froth steamed milk for lattes.
Pro Tip #2: If you have a steamer/frother combination pot, you can simply pour your milk into it for step two. Or you can quickly pulse warm milk in your blender to get it foamy.

Step Three: Pour matcha and steamed milk into a mug.

Step Four: Garnish with dried lavender, if desired, for aesthetic.
Iced Honey Lavender Matcha

Step One: Mix up matcha, lavender honey syrup, vanilla, and hot water then pour into cold milk over ice.

Step Two: Garnish with dried lavender, if desired.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can make a matcha latte up to three days ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. Just keep in mind that some separation is likely to occur so give it a good stir before drinking.
Since a latte combines either brewed tea or coffee with milk, you can't make a matcha latte with just water. You can make plain matcha tea with just matcha and hot water, though.
