Spring has sprung and with it comes pretty colors, patio weather, and the perfect atmosphere for brunching. Naturally, I’m sharing a mimosa recipe today. But these aren’t just any mimosas. They may look like your run-of-the-mill orange juice and champagne combo but there’s a little something extra in there that makes a big impact, flavor-wise: lavender simple syrup! I served these orange lavender mimosas to some of my girlfriends at a brunch earlier this month and the phrase “best mimosa I’ve ever tasted” might have been thrown around. The addition of lavender simple syrup is an easy way to change things up in your at-home brunch routine and it takes the taste to a whole new level. The taste is sweet and slightly floral and you can customize it to your preference by adding more or less syrup. You definitely need to try these orange lavender mimosas ASAP!
Last spring, I shared these turnt tequila mimosas made with tequila and elderflower liqueur. They were a big hit here on the blog and elsewhere. Now, the orange lavender mimosas we’re talking about today won’t get the party quite as rowdy as those but they are definitely worth a try. Make these to sip on for a classy pre-party move or to serve at the main brunch event. In case you’re wondering where to find lavender syrup, don’t worry–I’ve got you covered! I make my own with just sugar, water, and dried lavender blossoms, which results in the perfect amount to complement a carafe of OJ and bottle of champagne for these mimosas or a batch of my honey lavender lemonade. If that’s not your idea of a good time, you can buy it ready-made at liquor or grocery stores, and even on Amazon. I’ve linked a few varieties below.
