All I can really say about this week is "Bleh." After a lot of searching, surveying y'all on Instagram, and getting the wallpaper up three weeks ago, I pulled the trigger on a rug for this space. Unfortunately, it wasn't delivered in time for me to get an update posted when it arrived, which turned out to be ok because the One Room Challenge was extended by one week this year in light of delays related to the recent hurricanes that have devastated many. Once the rug did arrive, I realized that it was just too busy for the space with the wallpaper and chair covers. I had gotten caught up while shopping and strayed from my original vision of a solid rug and it had to go back. Here's a snap of it from my Instagram story before I wrapped it back up, shipped it off, and ordered a replacement.
The new rug is still en route but I'm hoping it will be perfect for the space. Since creating the initial mood board for this room, I've felt that a large, light neutral rug would pull the dining room together and punctuate it from the adjoining living room. Next week is the big reveal and I'm so thankful to the One Room Challenge for keeping me accountable to a timeline. I originally aimed to finish this room by Thanksgiving but may well have not done so until Christmas, if I'm being honest. Life gets in the way but, thankfully, I didn't run into any [major] issues and maintained my resolve. Between now and next Thursday, I'll add the rug and finalize the remaining details like accessories and artwork. I can't wait to be done with this room and share it with y'all. In the meantime you can follow along with the progress of all the other guest participants here. Thanks for reading!
P.S. Prior Room Updates:

- Week Two: DIY Ghost Chair Covers
- Week Three: Accent Wall Wallpaper
