What You'll Need for this Recipe

Carrots, of course! Use your favorite variety, including orange, red, white, yellow, purple, or combine them for hot honey roasted rainbow carrots. Either way, they'll taste wonderful.
North African Spices like turmeric, smoked paprika, ginger, and cinnamon make this dish super fragrant and richly flavored without much effort. Use freshly-ground spices for the boldest taste.
Hot Honey from your favorite brand or homemade. I like this spicy honey, but feel free to use what is accessible to you.

Substitutions & Variations
Vegan - If you want to make this spicy honey carrots recipe vegan, use a spicy maple syrup or agave nectar instead of the hot honey.
Carrots - You can cut up full-sized carrots or use baby carrots in this recipe for more convenience. Just note that hot honey roasted baby carrots will cook a little quicker, so start checking for doneness 5-10 minutes sooner. Or if you use mini carrots, you can do roasted whole carrots!
How to Make Easy Roasted Hot Honey Carrots

- Step 1: Wash and cut the carrots down to one-inch thickness and 3-4 inches in length.

- Step 2: Toss the cut carrots with olive oil and spices.
Pro Tip #1
Peeling the carrots is optional, and the carrots you see photographed in this post have not been peeled. If you want the prettiest presentation, add about five minutes to your prep time for peeling.

- Step 3: Spread the carrots out on a sheet pan and roast until golden and fork-tender.

- Step 4: Lay the carrots on top of a smear of hummus, then drizzle hot honey over top.
Frequently Asked Questions
Store leftover carrots separately from hummus in an airtight container. They will keep for up to one week. I recommend reheating in the oven or air fryer for the best texture.
Yes, you can freeze the carrots--again--separately from the hummus. I also recommend reserving the hot honey glaze until you're ready to serve them if you plan on freezing. To keep the carrots from becoming one frozen chunk, spread them out on a sheet pan and freeze for about two hours, then transfer them to a freezer-safe, airtight container. Keeps for up to three months.

How to Serve
Serve the carrots warm over hummus with a lil extra hot honey on the side. You can garnish them with fresh parsley or mint--and a sprinkle of crushed pistachios for extra razzle dazzle and some crunch!
The flavors in this glazed carrots with hummus dish pair perfectly with crock pot Moroccan chicken, saucy harissa meatballs, or easy lamb smash tacos. Add some cold cucumber salad and yogurt sauce, and you've got a full-on feast.
