What You'll Need for this Recipe

Here are the glowing skin superfoods ingredients you'll need to make this smoothie.

Blueberries are the HBIC when it comes to antioxidants, which are wonderful for skin and just about every other part of the body. You can use fresh blueberries or frozen in this recipe.

Celery juice has been touted to improve gut health and balance blood sugar--both of which help keep my skin clear--when consumed on the regular. But it's anti-inflammatory properties also help with acne and eczema. And since we're blending and not juicing for this recipe, you'll get all the fiber!

Ginger & Turmeric have serious glow inducing benefits. They are full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which help prevent signs of aging. Use fresh for best results but ground dried ginger and turmeric will also work.

Kale & Spinach because dark leafy greens are great for the skin with vitamin A to help moderate oil product, vitamin C to support collagen, vitamin K to help tight skin and reduce dark circles. Fresh or frozen works and you can swap in other greens like collards or Swiss chard, if needed.

Pineapple also helps fight inflammation and provides vitamins and enzymes that aid in digestion. Again, all roads lead back to the gut! I also add pineapple for natural sweetness so this green smoothie doesn't taste green. Use fresh or frozen here.

Tips & Tools

Grab a sharp knife and cutting board. You'll also need a blender. Quick and easy smoothie recipe, simple kitchen tools.

What can I add to a smoothie for healthy skin? You can add more skin supporting nutrients and a boost of protein with a scoop of unflavored collagen peptides.

How to Layer Smoothie Ingredients in the Blender

Most of the time, I just throw all the ingredients into my blender and hit liquefy, however, when you have lots of roughage--like celery and kale--in the mix, it can be more difficult to get everything smooth. In this case, layering is key.

Pour in the liquid first. Next add the pineapple and celery, ginger, turmeric, greens, and berries. The press the liquefy button for your life! Pour, then sip your glowing skin sweet green smoothie and feel yourself radiate.

Consistently clear skin has been a periodic struggle for me but I've noticed that when I take in more of the good stuff (and follow my dermatologist's recommendations), my skin thanks me for it.
