It is sweet and savory with crunch and creaminess all rolled into one--truly the best hot brie appetizer you'll ever taste. Just five ingredients yields a beautiful combination of nutty crunch and buttery softness, as well as flavor fusion in the way of my caramelized praline sauce recipe with salty and creamy brûlée brie cheese.
What You'll Need for this Recipe
Brie Cheese comes in different sized wheels and wedges and you can use as many as you need to multiple this recipe for more servings.
Brown Sugar is key to the pralines flavor profile so you can't substitute with another kind of sugar. Either dark or light brown sugar works.
Butter melds the praline sauce together. Use either salted or unsalted butter depending on your preference
Pecans add the nutty pecan praline vibes. And you can use halved or chopped pecans. I've even mad praline sauce with pecan chips aka cookie pieces.

Substitutions & Variations
Camembert - Both camembert and brie have a kind of earthy taste but camembert is nuttier so it's a suitable substitute in this dish because it plays well with the brown sugar pecan sauce.
Nuts - I make baked brie with pecan praline sauce but you can use walnuts, if needed.
How to Make Praline Brie Dip
Step One: Cut off the top rind from the brie and place in the oven to bake.
Step Two: Meanwhile, melt down butter to start the praline sauce.
Pro Tip: Most recipes advise not removing the top in order to keep the brie wheel stable, however, I prefer to slice off the top because we are pouring the caramel all over it, anyway. If you don't want to do this, I recommend making diagonal cuts in the top of the wheel instead.
Pro Tip: I love baking the brie in a small cast iron skillet for extra presentation points but you can use pretty much any baking dish that presents well.
Step Three: Stir in heavy cream and brown sugar, bring to a boil then simmer until thickened.
Step Four: Remove from heat and stir in pecans.
Step Five: Remove brie from oven when it is golden brown and melted.
Step Six: Pour pecan praline sauce over the baked brie and serve warm.
Pro Tip: I like to make this dish just before hosting because it is truly best fresh out of the oven. But if you need to make it a bit ahead, cover with foil and keep it near your warm oven or stovetop. I don't recommend making it too far ahead because the praline sauce will start to separate and the dish will solidify as it gets cold. If you need to transport your praline brie dip, use an insulated carrier.

Pecan Praline Baked Brie Dip
Equipment
- 1 knife
- 1 baking dish
Ingredients
- 12 ounces brie cheese
- 5 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- ⅓ cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup pecans halves or pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Coat a small baking dish with non-stick oil spray and set aside.
- Remove top of rind from wheel of brie then place the wheel in a small baking dish.
- Transfer to oven and bake for about 22 minutes. Cheese should be melted and bubbly.
- In the meantime, make praline sauce: melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and heavy cream until uniform.
- Bring praline sauce to a gentle boil then reduce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing sauce to thicken.
- Remove sauce from heat then stir in pecans. Set aside.
- Once brie is finished baking, pour praline sauce over top and serve immediately. Enjoy carefully.
