We're at the top of a fresh, new year and, depending on who you ask, a new decade. Have you made any resolutions or set any goals? How are they going? I know that the first few weeks of implementing healthy habits tend to be the hardest so consider this your two-week check in. I've previously talked about easy ways to do good for the environment and today I've partnered with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® at Walmart to share how I incorporate doing good into my routine and how you can make a habit of doing good too.

To successfully make something new a part of your routine--a habit, that is, make it as easy as possible to do. The longer you practice, to more like second nature it becomes. Since we're talking about doing good today, here are a few ways I have made it an everyday thing in my own life.
Easy Ways to Make Doing Good a Habit
- Look for opportunities to help others. And you'll find what you're looking for. This was one of the most valuable lessons my mother taught me. If you set an intention to do good, you'll notice more and more ways you can as you go about your days.
- Make an event of it. I purge my closets on a regular basis and try to follow a one in one out rule with clothing purchases. As one year ends and another begins, I do a larger purge across my entire home and donate new and gently-used items to our area women's shelter.
- Research the products you purchase. Something as routine as enjoying your morning cup of coffee can reinforce your habit of doing good when it's from a brand that takes social responsibility into account. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is that kind of brand and its availability at Walmart makes doing good so convenient. If you're a coffee lover, Green Mountain's pods provide the best of both worlds through quality products from a brand doing good things for the world. Dark Magic is perfect for coffee aficionados. Pro tip: Use the "strong" setting on your brewer (if available) to get the best of the bold flavor.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee grows all around the world. And the company supports the communities and farmers that provide it in a number of ways. Green Mountain's commitment to sustainability has led to climate change research and education to protect the future of coffee and drive good agricultural practices. The Blue Harvest program helps restore watersheds and water systems. And Green Mountain's partnership with Root Capital provides financing, services, and financial training to farmers.

If you prefer creamy flavors to bold, try the Caramel Vanilla Cream pods! Walmart carries a variety of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters' flavors and has a variety of convenient options to get your favorite at everyday low prices. Between online grocery pickup, in-store shopping, and Walmart.com, you can save both money and time with the option that best fits your schedule.

I'd love to know what habits you're trying to make stick in the new year and how you are doing good things in the world--let me know below. As always, thanks for reading!
