Big or small, simple or complicated, engaging or run-of-the-mill, every recipe has a story. Here’s the quick tale attached to my frozen watermelon mint lemonade. My best friend recently raved about Chick-fil-A’s watermelon mint lemonade and so I stopped by one day to try it. Of course, it is delicious and tastes true the flavors involved: mint, watermelon, and lemon. Most everyone knows that Chick-fil-A’s lemonade is borderline addictive but I thought that I could successfully whip up my own rendition of this seasonal version at home. And I did.
Today, I am sharing the wealth, aka recipe, with y’all so that you can recreate it at home while watermelons are ripe, juicy, and available almost everywhere. And unlike the fun margarita-infused watermelon I shared a few weeks ago, this is a recipe that the whole family can enjoy. This frozen watermelon mint lemonade is really easy to make and requires only five ingredients! You simply toss those five ingredients into a blender, pulse, and pour. That’s really all there is to it. As you can tell from the photos below, this is a drink you’ll want to gulp down quickly not only because it tastes good and is refreshing but also because it doesn’t stay frozen for long. The frozen watermelon provides both flavor and a slushy-like consistency to this drink, which will separate from the liquids over time rather than melt like ice. I don’t think you’ll have any problems with that, though. 🙂 This is a great way to beat the heat but I will advise you to watch out for brain freeze! If you like this drink, I encourage you to check out my fizzy honey ginger lemonade and honey lavender lemonade recipes as well before the summer is over.
If you give this drink a try, please be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
