A behind-the-scenes look at Pappadeaux's 30th anniversary including the menu, specials, and a giveaway
Pappadeaux is one of those places where you can go whether you're trying to eat light or indulge but I typically like to go in when I visit. There are locations all over my hometown so I'm only a few minutes away from one whenever I want to grab lunch with coworkers, slay happy hour with my girlfriends, or have dinner with my family. If you're not familiar with Pappadeaux...I'm sorry! This and other Pappas family restaurants started here in Houston and have spread throughout Texas and if you're blessed enough to live Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, New Mexico, or Ohio, there are locations in those states, too. If not, take this as an excuse (like you needed one) to visit Houston! Pappadeaux turns 30 this month and kicked off a bunch of specials and new menu items to celebrate.
During my lunch break a couple weeks ago, I visited one of their busiest Houston locations to learn about the Pappadeaux menu and method of cooking, sample new offerings, and even make the 30th anniversary signature cocktail myself! It was a fun and insightful visit so I thought I would share the highlights with y'all as well as the upcoming specials so you can take full advantage.
The Cat 30: a classic hurricane with aged rum, Fassionola syrup, lime juice, and a Hennessy floater. This is available starting today at all locations to celebrate the anniversary. This drink was fun to look at, create, and, of course, sip. You definitely want to try it this month while it's available!
Kitchen Tour: I think anyone who has visited Pappadeaux knows that they serve quality food but touring the kitchen gave me a better perspective on the lengths to which the chefs and kitchen staff go to ensure this. Everything is made fresh and in-house, cooked to order, and customizable. We observed the step-by-step process of creating a couple of dishes, including shrimp and grits.
The Specials: Now through October 30, 2016, the Cat 30 and a decadent Bananas Foster Cheesecake are available at all locations. Additionally, there are daily specials. Y'all know I love a sale so I found this exciting.
- Half-Price Gulf Coast Oysters ($6.95/dozen) on Sundays and Mondays
- Half-Price Seafood Platter ($13.45) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Two 1-pound Live Maine Lobsters ($29.95) on Thursdays and Fridays
I hope y'all get to visit during the celebration period and maybe even participate in the "Celebrate your Pappadeaux" contest on social media to win a $150 gift card! Thanks for reading!
