Happy holiday season, y'all! Thanksgiving is in just a few days then it will probably be a blur of activity until the new year. I'm already in the mood for all things Christmas. If you're like me, you want to be fully present during this time so you can enjoy your loved ones and the overall season. And, as faithful Dash of Jazz readers know, organization is one of my major keys to being able to stay in the moment and enjoy life. So why not apply that to one of the busiest times of the year? Today, I'm sharing how you can stay organized this holiday season. Start scrolling for all the juicy details.

Pilot Pen delivers exceptional writing experiences for me every time, which made partnering with them to talk about organized holiday season hacks a no-brainer. I picked up FriXion® pens for their erasable smooth-writing gel ink and G2® pens (America's #1 selling pen) from the Writing Supplies aisle at my local Target.
My Hacks for an Organized Holiday Season
Color Code Your Lists & Calendars
Let's start with a tip for your to-do list. The holiday season seems to be particularly time compressed and staying on top of our to-do lists and calendars can be more of a chore than usual. Categorizing and color-coding the items on your to-do list makes it easier to visually scan. Below are a few common tasks that pop up around this time of year. Write each of your categories into your calendar or to-do list in a different color to help you more effectively divide and conquer.
- Airport runs
- Grocery shopping
- Gift shopping
- Order pickup
- Holiday parties and events
Don't just reserve this practice for the holidays. If you're an overachiever, try G2® pens for your everyday organization, too.
Make Gift Tags Easy to Spot
I'm the oldest of five siblings, which meant that when grabbing a present from under the tree, there was a strong chance it wasn't for me. If you have multiple littles in your household, a good way to bring some kind of order to Christmas morning is to write each child's name in a different color on the gift tags. Every little bit of organization you can incorporate into the chaos that is opening presents with lots of children is welcome, right? This trick is also helpful when labeling presents that are going to your loved ones' homes--think nieces, nephews, Godchildren, etc. Fill in each household's gift tags in a different color (G2® pens come in 27 colors). Another way to employ this same technique is to wrap each household's gifts differently. I learned this technique from my Aunty Toyin who has always been holiday goals! Check out more of my gift-wrapping hacks here.
Add Color to Christmas Cards
Filling out a ton of Christmas cards can get monotonous. Use Pilot Pen to switch things up! And like with my gift tag tip, you can color-code names and addresses on the envelopes to make each person's card easier to spot. After my housewarming party, I walked around with so many thank-you cards to hand out in person and shuffling through them when I would run into the recipients was annoying. Varying color would have been very helpful.
Use the Right Tools
As you write your way to an organized holiday season, mistakes will likely be made. We're only human and that's completely ok. With Pilot erasable FriXion® pens, there's no need to toss a gift card envelope or gift tag when you misspell someone's name because they write smoothly and erase cleanly. And you'll only need to cross things out on your to-do list because you've done them--not because you crossed an "i" instead of dotting it. 🙂 You get infinite do-overs to get your season's greetings just right.
Lastly, think about giving the gift of colorful organization this holiday season. Pilot Pen packs make great stocking stuffers for anyone who also needs an organized holiday season or simply wants to express themselves effortlessly and connect through the written word. Thanks for reading!

These pens are great! I went out and got some just for Christmas cards and I did make a mistake on a card instead of throwing it away lol I just erase my mistake. These pens will also be a good help for my planner as well.
