  • Fill a highball glass halfway with ice then pour in six ounces sparkling water. Set aside.

  • Dissolve matcha powder and two ounces boiling water.
    1 teaspoon matcha powder, 2 ounces boiling water
  • Pour matcha mixture into iced sparkling water and stir. Serve immediately.

Notes

Preparation
To make for a crowd, mix one tablespoon of matcha with four ounces boiling water. Fill a pitcher with ice and 32 ounces sparkling water then pour in matcha and stir. Serves four.
I don't recommend making this drink in advance because the bubbles in the sparkling water will go flat.
Modifications
You can add the sweetener of your choice to matcha soda or drink it unsweetened. Ginger honey syrup is a great addition or ginger turmeric syrup for even more antioxidants.
