Sweet, fizzy, and refreshing watermelon fruit punch made with just three ingredients
Print Recipe
- 8 cups watermelon cut into chunks
- ice
- 33 ounces ginger ale
- 1 lemon plus extra for garnish
Add watermelon chunks to blender and pulse until liquified and smooth (about 30 seconds).
8 cups watermelon
Fill punch bowl halfway with ice then ttrain the watermelon mixture through a sieve or cheesecloth into the bowl. If you don't want any foam at all in your punch and/or have tiny seeds that make it through, double-strain the liquid through a mesh strainer and cheesecloth.
ice
Pour in ginger ale, and squeeze in juice from one lemon then stir.
33 ounces ginger ale, 1 lemon
Slice another lemon (optional) and add to punch bowl for garnish.
Preparation
I don't recommend making this drink in advance because the effervescence will diminish within a few hours. However, you can make the watermelon juice up to two days ahead and assemble the punch day of.
Modifications
You can use lime or orange, or even grapefruit juice instead of lemon.
This recipe works with lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up, as well as ginger beer or a grapefruit soda like Squirt.
Want a watermelon boozy punch, aka watermelon hunch punch? Add a few shots of your favorite spirit (tequila, rum, or vodka are fantastic here) or a light wine like prosecco. Or do watermelon champagne punch if you want extra bubbles!
For an extra special touch, freeze melon balls to use instead of ice cubes!
