Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 ounces whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons honey optional
  • 1 lemon
  • lemon slices to garnish

Instructions

  • Heat apple cider and cinnamon sticks until simmering either on stove top (about 4 minutes) or in the microwave (about 2 minutes). Do not bring to a boil.
  • Remove cider from heat and add whiskey, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until dissolved.
  • Divide liquid between two heat-safe mugs and garnish with lemon slices. Enjoy carefully and drink responsibly!

Notes

Substitutions
Whiskey of any kind will work, though I love a bourbon apple cider hot toddy, personally. The best whiskey for a hot toddy is your favorite whiskey but if you need recommendations, try Uncle Nearest 1856, Still ATX Straight Bourbon, or Bulleit!
If you don't have fresh lemon on hand, use about 1 ½ ounce of bottled lemon juice or fresh orange juice instead.
