Add matcha powder and hot water to a mug. Using either a frothing tool or bamboo whisk, mix vigorously until matcha is dissolved.
Add in pistachio syrup and vanilla extract and mix again until uniform. Set aside.
Using frothing tool to froth steamed milk: place wand into milk at an angle and turn on. Move wand up and down just below surface of milk to introduce air for about 15 seconds. This is what creates the light, fluffy foam.
Pour milk and foam into mug with matcha. Enjoy immediately and carefully.
