Perfectly crafted iced tea with minty, earthy, and bright flavors
Print Recipe
- 1 teaspoon matcha ceremonial or culinary grade
- 1 tablespoon loose mint tea leaves or one mint teabag
- 1 cup hot water
- ½ lemon
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ice
- fresh mint optional garnish
Add mint tea bag to hot water and steep for five minutes.
Add matcha to steeped tea and mix vigorously until dissolved. Squeeze lemon juice into tea mixture the add in honey. Stir until dissolved and uniform.
Allow tea to come to room temperature (about 10 minutes).
Fill a highball glass ¾ way with ice then pour tea into glass. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, if desired, and enjoy cold.
Grab a bamboo whisk or frothing wand to dissolve the matcha. If you don't have access to either, a fork or baking whisk can work in a pinch. You'll also need a heat safe mug or multi measuring cup.
Can I make it ahead of time? Yes! You can even multiply the recipe card below to make a big batch to keep in the fridge. Just keep in mind that you'll need to stir or shake the tea before enjoying.
