4medium-sized apples
1eggbeaten
2sheetspuff pastryusually sold two per package in grocer's frozen section
brown sugarto taste
sea saltto taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Open puff pastry and leave out to thaw. Meanwhile, cut each apple in half then remove core with a melon baller or metal spoon.
Thinly slice each apple half, keeping slices together.
Sprinkle with brown sugar, separating slices slightly in order to allow sugar to get between them.
Spread egg over puff pastry and sprinkle with sea salt. Cut into four squares (or circles, if you want to get a little fancy).
Place one apple half in center of each piece of pastry. Bake for about 18 minutes or until pastry is golden and apple is tender. Serve warm.
