Gingerbread Christmas Donuts

Scratch-made baked gingerbread donuts simply glazed then decorated with red and green sugar sprinkles

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter melted
  • 3/4 cup milk I used unsweetened almond.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red and green sprinkles


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix eggs, molasses, sugar, butter, and milk together in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, ginger, and sea salt.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until uniform. Pipe batter into donut tin and bake for about 16 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, mix up ingredients for glaze except for sprinkles.
  5. Dip one side of each warm donut in glaze then set aside. Once cool, dip the same sides in the glaze again and finish with sprinkles.
