Donuts
- 4 eggs
- ⅓ cup molasses
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup butter melted
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground clove
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Glaze
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- red and green sprinkles
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs then stir in molasses, sugar, butter, milk, and vanilla extract until uniform. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and sea salt.
Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined and no dry pockets remain.
Transfer batter into a piping bag or a zipper-seal bag with one corner snipped off. Pipe batter into donut tin and bake for about 16 minutes.
While the donuts bake, mix up ingredients for glaze except for sprinkles.
Remove baked donuts from pan then set on a cooling rack and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Dip one side of each warm donut in glaze then set aside. Once cool, dip the same sides in the glaze again and finish with sprinkles.
