Thanks to Barritt's Ginger Beer for sponsoring this fizzy honey ginger lemonade recipe. As always, all opinions are my own.
This is my new favorite summer drink, y'all. It's bright, refreshing, and bubbly with a little bit of "bite" to it. The bite and bubbles come from Barritt's ginger beer, which I combined with a fairly traditional lemonade recipe to create one of the tastiest beverages these two hands have ever made. I'm not just speaking for myself, either. I served this fizzy honey ginger lemonade a couple of weeks ago at this brunch and it was a hit!
There are just four ingredients and you could also add in a taste of your favorite liquor (more on that down below) depending on the kind of party you want to have. 🙂 The basic recipe is fresh lemon juice, honey, water, and Barritt's ginger beer. That's it! The result is simple but exceptional--and perfect to pack for a summertime picnic in the park or serve at a backyard barbeque. Because it's so easy to make, I find myself mixing it up all the time for both myself and guests. To keep the fizz action on the go, just mix the honey, water, and lemon in a container then pour the ginger beer in just before drinking.
And in case you were wondering if this recipe could possibly get any better, you're just one ingredient away from a groovy little cocktail. Add a generous splash of vodka and you're in quality mule territory, y'all! This would make for a slight twist on the classic mule with lemon in place of the traditional lime juice and it is more than worth the minimal effort it takes to make it. A cold glass of this fizzy honey ginger lemonade in your hand is almost as good air conditioning. 🙂 As a born and bred Texan, I know a thing or two about beating the heat. Also, if you're looking for more variations on the mule cocktail, Barritt's has five refreshing recipes here, from Mexican to Moonshine to Kentucky.
Let me know if you give this recipe a try over the summer. Happy Hump Day and thanks for reading!
