Why You'll Love this Recipe
Quick & Easy - Whether you want to drink it warm and cozy or cold and frosty, you only need about five minutes to DIY your turmeric green tea! No expert techniques or uncommon ingredients either.
Healthy - This turmeric and matcha tea drink combines the magic of golden milk aka haldi doodh and matcha green tea lattes so it's high in antioxidants and known to promote heart health (WebMD), joint health, and even digestive health (WebMD). Much better than what you'll find at Starbucks or Dunkin.
Energy for your Day - Since matcha promotes mental alertness with less caffeine than a coffee based latte, you'll get a natural energy boost to start your morning with less chance of crash or jitters later (WebMD).
I pretty much drink matcha every day so have tons of flavor options like the lavender matcha latte, refreshing mint matcha, and pistachio matcha latte. It's also great in a matcha green smoothie or simple matcha soda water!
What You'll Need for this Recipe
Matcha Powder I recommend organic ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor, color, and taste. Note that matcha is an instant dissolve tea and not something you can get from a tea bag.
Ground Turmeric from the spice aisle, also known as turmeric powder provides an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory assist in this latte.
Warming Spices like cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch black pepper add cozy flavor and help unlock the benefits of the turmeric.

Substitutions & Variations
Hot or Iced - You can make the latte with steamed milk or pour over iced milk depending on what you're in the mood for--and, let's be honest, the temperature outside!
Milk - I like this matcha golden latte with coconut milk but you can use just about any plant-based milk like almond milk or oat milk or a dairy milk, including evaporated milk. The only one I don't recommend is buttermilk because of the acidity.
Be sure not to use a fat free milk in this recipe because your body needs some fat and the piperine in black pepper to fully absorb the curcumin in turmeric (Healthline)!
Sweetener - Drink it unsweetened, make it with honey or use another sweetener like maple syrup, agave nectar or coconut sugar to make it vegan. I love ginger-infused honey or my turmeric honey syrup in this recipe for extra flavor and benefits!
How to Make a Golden Matcha Latte
Hot Matcha Latte with Turmeric
Step One: Dissolve matcha, spices, and sweetener in hot water.
Step Two: Heat milk to steaming then use a frothing wand to create latte foam.
Pro Tip #1: You can use a bamboo whisk, fork, or frothing wand (aka electric whisk) to mix up the matcha.
Pro Tip #2: If you have a steamer/frother combination tool, you can simply pour your milk into it for step two. Or you can quickly pulse warm milk in your blender to get a similar effect.
Step Three: Pour the steamed milk and mixed matcha into a mug.
Step Four: Garnish with another sprinkle of turmeric (optional).
Iced Turmeric Latte
Step One: Add milk, matcha, spices, and sweetener to a blender and pulse to combine.
Step Two: Pour into a glass over ice.
Step Three: Garnish with a sprinkle of turmeric, for aesthetic (optional).

PCOS Health Benefits of Golden Matcha
Drinking homemade matcha lattes feels fancy but it's actually a very PCOS-friendly practice as both turmeric and matcha are known to help reduce inflammation (NIH), which is linked to some of common PCOS symptoms like acne and irregular menstrual cycles (Veera Health).
Matcha can also improve insulin sensitivity, which is great for the many women trying to attack PCOS insulin resistance as part of weight management (Veera Health). Turmeric has also been linked to similar positive outcomes (NIH).
And since one of the long-term concerns related to having PCOS is cardiovascular disease, matcha is considered a healthy hormone superfood as it helps protect heart health (Veera Health).
