What You'll Need for this Recipe
Japanese Matcha Powder - Use an unsweetened organic ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor and color with the signature earthy flavor.
Ground Cinnamon from the spice aisle, also called cinnamon powder adds cozy flavor so you can use the same cinnamon you use in baking. Or you can incorporate the cinnamon tea from a tea bag.
Honey adds sweetness and you can use whichever brand or variety you like. I sometimes use ginger-infused honey for extra warmth and flavor.

Substitutions & Variations
Hot or Iced - You can either make this latte with steamed milk or pour it over ice for an iced matcha latte with cinnamon twist.
Milk - I make my cinnamon matcha latte with almond milk but you can use any plant-based milk of your choosing like oat milk to make it dairy free or use dairy milk. I don't recommend buttermilk due to the acidity.
Vegan - Use a vegan friendly sweetener to make it vegan, like maple syrup, agave nectar or coconut sugar.
Flavor - Add a touch of vanilla extract for a cinnamon vanilla matcha drink.
How to Make a Matcha Cinnamon Latte
Step One: Dissolve the matcha, cinnamon, and honey in hot water.
Step Two: Heat milk to steaming then use a frothing wand to make latte foam.
Pro Tip #1: Use a bamboo whisk, fork, or a frothing wand (electric whisk) to mix the matcha.
Pro Tip #2: You can also pour the milk into a milk frother that steams at the same time for step two. Or quickly pulse the warm milk in a blender for a similar effect.
Step Three: Pour steamed milk and cinnamon matcha tea into a mug.
Step Four: Serve warm with a cinnamon stick, if desired.
