I love sleep. I love it like Oprah loves bread. Like Taylor Swift loves playing the victim. Like Kanye loves Kanye. A quick, 30-minute morning routine helps me get as much sleep as possible on weeknights. While my routine isn’t quite as bare bones as the one Lil Wayne describes in Back to the Money, it is simple enough to allow me to wake up around 6:30am and be out the door by 7:00am looking put-together and ready for the day.
I shower at night to decompress, wash the day away, and save that 20 minutes the next morning. After getting up, I start with the basics: wash hands, brush teeth, wash face. Then I apply skincare and (sometimes) minimal makeup. Next, I style my hair–usually in two halo-style flat twists or a bun then move on to the closet for clothes. Get Out the Door
I leave my purse and keys on the entryway console table each night so that I can grab them on my way out each morning.
