I have to start this off by thanking Aubrey Drake Graham for the song Child’s Play, which is a gem itself. Unfortunately, he had nothing to do with this post but I will never go to The Cheesecake Factory without thinking of the opening verse. Now that that is out of the way, you might be wondering what I could possibly teach you about this restaurant, as it is a very well-known place to eat. I did just say that Drake mentioned it in a song, after all. Stay with me, though! Most of us know The Cheesecake Factory for a few things:
- A textbook of a menu (It has over 250 items.)
- Superhuman portions (They might as well bring you a to-go box with your plate.)
- Cheesecake (Duh!)
The Houston Galleria Cheesecake Factory is just a few minutes from my job so it’s a frequent choice for celebrating work anniversaries and such. My coworkers, friends, and family are quite familiar with this place but whenever we go, I always seem to order or suggest something they’ve never heard of. That’s not hard to do when the menu is so expansive so I thought I would share some items y’all might not think to order but definitely should. Additionally, I have partnered with The Cheesecake Factory to give a gift card to one reader so that, if you see something you like, you can go and try it for yourself! Entries will be accepted for one week starting today. [giveaway closed] All you have to do to be considered for the giveaway is:
- Subscribe to Dash of Jazz (You’ll get early access to giveaways like these and no spam, I promise!)
- Comment below on this post with your favorite menu item from the Cheesecake Factory.

My Hidden Gems
The strawberry dreamsicle is a strawberry milkshake with vodka and amaretto. It’s a decadent drink/dessert that toes the line between adulting and “I don’t wanna grow up!”
The chicken and biscuits is really two meals in one! It’s my favorite comfort dish to order and consists of two fluffy biscuits, creamy mashed potatoes, and chicken breast and veggies in a yummy gravy. Think of it as a deconstructed pot pie.
This is my go-to dish when I want to eat light. Arugula, red and golden beets, pecans, apples, and goat cheese drizzled in just a touch of vinaigrette is my idea of the perfect lunch.
The pumpkin pecan cheesecake gives my perfect pumpkin cheesecake a run for it’s money. I typically like neither pumpkin nor pecan pie on their own but am a big cheesecake fan, as y’all might know. This cheesecake is a great bridge of all three and SO good. 25 cents from the sale of each pumpkin pecan cheesecake or pumpkin cheesecake will go toward fighting hunger with Feeding America. It’s only available during the holiday season so try it soon!
Thank you to The Cheesecake Factory for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
